Shchelkovsky plant of secondary precious metals was founded more than 70 years ago. Today, the plant is a large specialized refinery processing raw materials containing precious metals: gold, silver, platinum, palladium. The company has accumulated extensive experience in the production of silver-containing composite powders industrial use, gold and silver in ingots and granules, silver salts. The work of the company is based on many years of experience and an impeccable reputation in the market. The central factory laboratory of the plant has a fleet of modern analytical equipment and sample preparation, uses spectral, physical and traditional classical methods of analysis in its work. Special place in the production cycle of the plant is occupied by products based on silver-containing powders and salts. In recent years, the demand for accumulator subtractive powder and fluid subtractive powder has increased significantly, providing finished goods higher and more stable performance. The products of JSC "Shchelkovsky Plant of Secondary Precious Metals" are widely used in the production of: electrical contacts, current sources, catalysts, medicines, etc. The plant's products are certified by the International Association of Precious Metals Producers. The association has been awarded the "Good Delivery" certificate. The plant's products are distinguished not only by their high quality, but the production technology does not violate the environment.

From contaminants is called refining. This process is used to obtain pure precious metals of various samples for the jewelry industry, the production of bank bullion, and government reserves. Refineries are enterprises that have necessary equipment and technologies specializing in the processing of industrial semi-finished products, concentrates and alloys in order to extract high-purity precious metals.

Refining of primary raw materials

Refining is carried out by several chemical methods, depending on the type precious metal. Electrolysis, cupellation, reactions of chemical solutions and acids are used. The content of silver in the material obtained after refining reaches 99.9%, gold - 99.65%. Deliveries of raw materials to refineries are carried out from schlicho-concentrating factories, mining and smelting and mining and processing plants, recycling plants. The choice of a refinery as a supplier is purely subjective and mainly depends on the cost of refining, which is not the same for all such industries. The location of the enterprise in this case does not play a role.

Recognized refiners in Russia

Recognized producers of high-purity gold are those Russian refineries that are included in the list of companies of the London Precious Metals Market Association (LBMA). Recognized enterprises that have the right to produce high-purity precious metals:

  • Krasnoyarsk plant of non-ferrous metals (refinery of OAO Krastsvetmet). The enterprise was built in the early 40s of the twentieth century for the processing of copper and nickel ores Norilsk deposit and refining of platinum metals. To date, this is the only enterprise in the Russian Federation that produces all types of precious metals. The raw material base of Krastsvetmet consists of 70% concentrates from the Norilsk plant. The plant's products are certified and meet international standards. The company is listed as a producer of precious metals on the New York, Tokyo and London stock exchanges.
  • One of the oldest enterprises in Russia is the Yekaterinburg non-ferrous metal processing plant. The plant was built in 1916 for refining platinum. Today the plant processes slip gold, alloys and secondary precious metals. The company produces both technical and jewelry items from pure precious metals. Like the Krasnoyarsk plant, EzOCM has an international certificate for its Good Delivery products.

Russian producers of pure precious metals

Refineries whose products do not have an international certificate:

  • Prioksky plant of non-ferrous metals. The enterprise was put into operation in 1974 in the city of Kasimov, Ryazan region. Until 1991, the plant produced metals and alloys, later it was redesigned for the production of gold the highest standard(99.99) for the state reserve.
  • The Novosibirsk Refinery is the oldest gold refinery in Russia. Until 1991, the enterprise was a monopolist in providing state gold reserves (Gokhran) and processed 60% of all mined gold. The plant is famous for its traditions, high production culture and products of the highest quality.
  • Shchelkovsky plant of secondary precious metals. A Moscow Region enterprise specializing in the processing of relatively rich secondary raw materials with a gold content of at least 2% and silver of at least 5%. It should be noted that the number of such secondary precious metals (RPM) is quite limited in the commodity market.
  • JSC "Uralelectromed" is an enterprise specializing in the processing of copper concentrates, the so-called "copper gold". Enterprise located in Sverdlovsk region, was previously one of the key suppliers of Gokhran. A large share of the raw material structure is secondary alloys based on copper.
  • The Kolyma refinery is one of the newest enterprises launched in 1998. The main purpose of the plant is the affination of local material.
  • The Kyshtym Copper Electrolytic Plant, located in the Chelyabinsk region, produces gold and silver from low-grade scrap.

Refining of secondary precious metals

Refineries of secondary precious metals (VPM) specialize in waste recycling, special concentrates, some products of primary processing in order to extract precious metals. The degree of refining, environmental friendliness and efficiency of the process at such enterprises depend on the manufacturability of the enterprise, the raw material base, and the chosen specialization. Refineries of the Russian Federation that process VDM: Krastsvetmet, Prioksky and Shchelkovsky Plant, EzOTsM, Kolyma Refinery.
